The 2008 Annual Symposium is in the final planning stages. Please continue to check website for agenda which will be posted as soon as faculty is finalized. The Huntington Mavor Course is planned for Friday, March 7th with Record Review planned for the same afternoon. We also have an open Call for Papers to be presented that day. The Scientific Session with invited speakers will be held on Saturday March 8th, 2008.

SHEV Award

WCNS is again offering the Shev Award for CNP Fellows and Neurology Residents. You can review the application criteria on this site. Application deadline is Dec 15, 2007 with a full manuscript due in the Executive Office by January 15, 2008. After review by the award committee, the recipient will be notified the last week in January, 2008.

Lodging

We will be meeting at the Embassy Suites Hotel San Diego Bay-Downtown. The suites consist of a living room area with a sleeper sofa, private bedroom, bath and dining/work area. Each suite contains two televisions, two dual- line telephones with voice mail and data ports, wet bar, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker complete with supplies. Each guest receives a complimentary basis, full cooked-to-order breakfast and two hours of evening beverages daily. Children under 18 may stay free in parent’s suite. There is a maximum of 6 persons per suite (including children).

WCNS has secured a limited number of rooms at a rate of $209 single and $229 double occupancy USD plus tax. A limited number of Ocean View rooms may be available for an additional $20 per night. Please make any request for an ocean view room at the time when making your reservation. To receive the discounted room rate, you must make your reservation directly with the hotel at Embassy Suites Reservation Department at (619) 239-2400 before Feb 5, 2008. Mention you are with the WESTERN CLINICAL NEUROPHYSIOLOGY SOCIETY or WCNS. If a guest checks out prior to the reserved checkout date, the hotel will add an early checkout fee of $75 to their individual account. Guests wishing to avoid an early checkout fee should advise the Embassy Suites Hotel San Diego Bay-Downtown at or before check-in of any change in planned length of stay.

Check-in time is 4:00 PM, check-out time is 12:00 Noon. All guests arriving before 4PM will be accommodated as suites become available. Bellmen can arrange to check baggage for those arriving early when suites are unavailable and for guests attending functions on departure day.

Valet Parking is $24 per night. Parking charges are subject to change.

Transportation

The hotel is located approximately three miles from San Diego International Airport (Lindbergh Field). Complimentary shuttle transportation is provided upon arrival and departure.
